New to the Sammy, Washington State followers?
« on: October 05, 2012, 11:22:39 AM »
Hey, names Michael! I just did a partial trade for an 86 Sammy sitting on yota axles. Truck is awesome except I'm having a great deal of troubles with the weber carb. Doesn't like to accelerate without bogging down.

Anyways! Who all is around Washington?

That depends, what section of Washington are you in?

You might need to put a pressure regulator on it, or re-jet the carb.  Has it ever run correctly?

Welcome! What part of Washington are you from? I'm over towards the coast.

I live in Tacoma. I tore the carb off and I am rebuilding it as we speak. Should run all better once I putter back on. Fingers crossed

I am up in Seattle, crawlersnw.com, but there are a few of us further south.  nw-wheelers is a great place to find out if people are running in Evans or Elbe.  Or even Tahuya, all are a short run from Tacoma.

That's awesome! I'll have to look on there. It would be neat to meet up with someone who's truck has similar mods to mine, I like to see what all I can improve.

Looks like we are thinking of running the Naches trail on Sunday morning.  That is the plan currently, jump over to http://crawlersnw.websitetoolbox.com/ if you want to put in your 2 cents.

Yea, to long of a drive and most of our rigs aren't really built for highway miles anymore.  Besides, it's nice to know you can load your rig up at the end of the day if it's broken and you have a nice warm place for the drive home.

Not sure you really need to.  I setup for a trailer because my SJ-410 just wasn't really capable of road duty over 50mph or long distances.  The White Rabbit is better and if I put an ARB in back it would be fine if a bit slow.

It spoils you, but you do need space for it.  Luckily I get to park all my toys at BRD HNTRs.  :D

Otherwise my DD would probably see quite a few more mods.

Looks like Walker Valley is open again after fire dangers.  Combined with the fact that my trailer has gone missing, I blame BRD HNTR, it looks like we will be doing that instead.
