16v Conversion

We have the engine in and running.  Just received our 3" lift from Calmini, a 1" body lift from Sky.  The local Les Schwab dealer set us up with 31/10.5/15  tires on 8" rims.

We have a group coming in saturday morning to get all this installed.  

We are not sure as to how to put in the power steering.  We have the pump, bracket and box off the 96 Sidekick.  Pump needs to be moved?  How to adapt to steering column?  Mount steering box to frame?  Pitman arm?  Any ideas?

It's getting close to the Search & Rescue as well as the fire season.  Need to get the Rescue Sami on the road.

on my power steering, the shaft is a combo of the stock samurai and the side kick, the pitman arm on the p.s. works but you might have to change the tre.  (tie rod end)  one of the bolts lines up on the frame and then you have to drill out two of the other holes and weld in two small pieces of pipe, somebody on the web sells a plate to bolt them up but I would drill the holes smaller to fit the bolts and use large washers on it untill you can take it to trail tough, I use the stock bracket for the pump on the engine you just have to get creative on the hose going to the box but you can get it to fit. if you want I could take some pic's on sat. Thanks Dennis, We thought you had to move the pump up on the block.  Our mistake.  Do you us a universal joint or the rag joint?  Pictures are always good for us.  I keep telling people, "I'm a preacher not a mechanic.  Need all the help I can get."  We have gone over our budget and can't afford to run out and buy a kit.  

Forgot to mention the 8" wheels came from Wheeler Offroad.  They have the right offset and make the 31" tires look good.

We have gone over budget on this conversion.  From this point on we have to make a much as we can.  Still ned a front cage for the roll bar and a proper rear bumper to pull a trailer.  

This has been a good project for the men and the kids in the church.  We are all bonding and discovering talents we never knew we had.
