XL7 Question
« on: March 26, 2004, 07:30:30 AM »
Can any one tell me where the mysterious passenger compartment hepa filter is located on the XL7 and how to change it?

I am assuming it's an OEM part and will cost me at least half a C note.

???

Thanks,

Gilty

I'm guessing an OEM HEPA filter will probably set you back more than one c-note!

Let see if I can help. IIRC, it's located under and behind the glove box. You'll need to remove this out of the way. In the ductwork there is a channel about 1" is width. This is the filter and it's '?holder?'. To give you a comparison, think of your house filter for the air return. There should be some snap clips you pop, and the holder slips out.

I've found the instructions for swapping the filter out. I'll scan it tonight and post to my webshots album.

Couldn't locate my USB cable for the scanner. But I was able to locate the instructions on the web.

Go to http://www.pureoil.com. Click on the Air Filter, Cabin Air Filter, Premium Plus link in the upper right portion of the header. Link to the installation instructions. Link to P/N C15506 (left column about 7 down). There you have it.

Acrobat Reader will be necessary. Good luck.

Its not too hard, but getting the cover off is a bit aggrivating as the g***** dash support brace is in the way.
There is a place in St Louis that sells these filters a bit cheaper than the dealer
Or see if your local auto store has them now.
The Zuke is on its way out.  Getting a vehicle that will behave and be supported by the dealer.
