Problems start and crossing rivers.
« on: October 25, 2012, 05:34:01 PM »
Greetings, I have two problems with my Geo Tracker 91 (8V) to see if they give me a help:

1. On two occasions not to turn on, taking the battery charger and the gas tank half. When you turn the key the starter turns but does not stop turning.

2. When I am crossing a deep river this low revolutions between 1k and 2k, but leave the river in a few minutes after this returns full force.

Please help me.

#2  It could be your fan clutch is stuck and doesn't slip, in deep water it then bogs the motor down.

I would clean up the connections at the starter and more than likely it requires a rebuild, solenoid sounds like it is sticking when engaged.

If you are gonna play in the water alot, then the engine and electrics need additional waterproofing.

Hello, proceeds to clean and fix grounding jeep, then buy a new battery and the tracker is like new.

I still have to try to cross rivers, but this weekend we do a route with my friends and tell them the result.

Thanks again for the info.   ;D ;D ;D
