Need help with leaf springs
« on: October 28, 2012, 05:33:00 PM »
I wondered if anyone knew of any leaf springs off of another vehicle that will fit a samurai and give it some lift without having to do any modifications . Any info would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks'!

Cj front springs in the rear and rear springs up front. Should give you about 2in of lift. Trailtough.com has kits to do and they are both bolt on kits. If you have any other questions let me know.     Vic

Well my springs are shot , I was really looking for some springs I could go pull off of something at the junkyard and just bolt in that would give me some lift . I didn't know if I could just pull some springs off of something else and put them on for a budget lift .

Im pretty sure that there isnt anything that wont bolt right in. When you say they are "shot" are they broken or worn out?

rocky-road.com has 1.5in lift springs for $400. that might be your best bet if your springs are worn out

If you have access to a pipe bender from Harbor Freight, a large hammer,  and some time you can try to re-arch your existing springs yourself.  I did this combined with an additional leaf on my SJ-410 a few times. They will probably start to collapse again after a year or so but it's free.
