no no matty, andrew wants to trade tranys with you i think?  he was talking to me about it before.  but to swap a auto into a 5-speed truck you need the computer,  but to swap a 5-speed into a auto truck you don't.

if you swap in a 3-speed you dont need a computer. Wildweasel did the swap and I put an auto in my sami.

what year did they start with the 4 speeds?

My 3 speed Auto has torque convertor
lockup, but I don't know what made it
work, and it has not worked for years

Why go auto? The parasitic loss of an auto seems to be too much when you have oversized tires and 80hp!  

Keep the 5-speed, I say.
