Good source for complete hub assembly?
« on: November 04, 2012, 09:05:14 AM »
So in addition to the 4WD auto locking hub problem I have on my 94 kick, I have play in the left ftront hub.  I recently replaced that wheel bearing with no improvement.  Still a lot of play from the hub.  I found some new hub assemblies on ebay ranging from 33 to 120 bucks said to fit trackers. Has anyone had experience with any of these?  My local auto salvage is so pricey I taken great pride in NOT buying from them.
If anyone knows of a good source for new or used hub assemblies or has one themselves they'd like to sell I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Jon

$120 for a new hub isn't bad. Just make sure it's the correct one. I've seen it happen where the spindle gets worn enough from a spun bearing where new bearings are still sloppy. sure it's not your spindle worn?

Maybe I'm just old and calling it wrong, but I call the short axle stub, where the inner bearing race rides and the whole thing that bolts to the strut a spindle. Some call it the knuckle too. The short axle part that is threaded on the end for the bearing nut can get worn enough to cause sloppy bearings.

I am in West Virginia 25314.  If shipping isn't too ridiculous I would like to look into buying one of your hub assemblys.
