Don't even know these people, so I'm no pimp.  Price is near right.

Isn't the 2.0 all the rage now?

GV alt.  It's 85 amp.  Yup, you could get it to work, I imagine.  Same plug as on the Kick alt.  Hey, I got a Kick alt (55 amp) to bolt in to my Sammy.

I would love nothing more then to get an alternator that can put out more amperage.  I should check to see if a GV alt would work on my Sidekick.  My stereo draws to much juice at night with all the lights on.  :P

In_flames, you're killing me.........again  :P

Honestly, you are right......these stock alternators just suck.  Well I guess they are reliable but the amp output is a joke.  70 amps in my rig and the GV and XL7 go to all of 80! wooooooooooohooooooooo

What is weird though is that the 60/70 amp units are Mitsubishi while the 80 amper is a Denso unit.
The Zuke is on its way out.  Getting a vehicle that will behave and be supported by the dealer.

If you remnember from the GV Yahoo group, the GV 85 amper can be booted up to 175 amps.  That's the main advantage here, as the 55 amp kick alt is all you can do with that.

Still, 55 amps is a large % increase over 40 amps. LOL

What year did the GV have 85 am unit?

The 2002 FSM lists it as 80 amp

ACE had the stock unit as producing 85 amps.  I thought it was an 80 amp before them telling me that.

Hey that engine is about an hour and a half away from me! Cool!!!!!

Too bad I can't find a rebuildable 5spd XL-7 or even an engine and trans swap close to me. Or even far away for that matter.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before or not :) but if you want to go crawler gears you'll need an auto from the GV V6 the XL.7 manual AND auto trannies will not work with the sidekick crawler t-case.

ALSO Hawk has several 2.5 and 2.7 V6's ready to be shipped. Call 'em for prices. 888 SAMURAI

Good Luck, Eric

Yeah you mentioned it before. But I have no use for crawler gears and want to keep my Tracker a 5spd. Sorry, but thanks for the info.

Running as normal as it could I guess. It's starting to have a belt squeek when I first start it though. Any good fix for that?
