1998 Suzuki Sidekick Problems
« on: December 04, 2015, 08:27:07 AM »
OK, ladies, and gents... I just had a 1998 Suzuki Sidekick given to me. Yes there are a few problems with the vehicle. Number 1 problem, the Zuki, has been sitting under a pine tree for approximately 8 years, yes I said 8 years. The vehicle was parked due to not having a working air conditioner. Plus side is, it only has 91000 miles on it! Towed to my house to start the work on the project vehicle. I need to drain the old gas can anyone send me in the right direction to do this? Also, vehicle will not start, mixed some high test gas in the tank, but the methanol crap sucks. do not get any fuel to the fuel rail under the hood. Fuel tank does come under pressure when key is switched on. Open gas cap and can hear air pressure leaking out. fuel gauge is not working. Where would you start in the fuel system, filter, pump, any idea

If drop'n the gas tank seems too much for you ,you could take the fuel filter off and hit the key. After you get the tank refilled with new juice you must take the incoming fuel hose off the fuelrail and flush that as well.just takecare not to start a fire. WOW 8 years huh.It would be a pile of rust after that, here in MAINE.I have a '96 2dr.softop parts truck that sat for 3 to 4 yrs. and there arent any body/frame "parts" from the thing thats usable.Just the inner rear carrier and maybe axles beside the engine. trans. and transfer.lol

When the key is turned on the computer will activate the fuel pump for only a few seconds, unless it senses the motor is running.
