Body lift for 99 4 door
« on: April 25, 2016, 01:09:57 PM »
I was n the low range site looking at body lifts, didn't see one for the 99 so I emailed them.  Only make the 1 inch kit KSP-BL1 for 4 doors as the steering linkage gets complicated.

What do you guys do to fix the linkage,  and is there anything other that needs to be done?  If I buy the earlier version 2 inch lift kit, will it bolt in?

My last tracker, a 93, had a 4 inch body lift, I'm sure I can figure it out but I'd rather hear from those with experience

its a case by case basis on steering linkage. I just loosened the aluminum flat bar clamp on the steering shaft moving it down 3/4 from bottom and 1/4 from top. it is a little stiff but has worked fine for the last year. or you can go to rocky road off-road and they sell the extension kit. I would try the bar clamp first and buy the kit if you are not happy. I have 2.5 suspension lift and a 2" body lift on my 01 2dr

That's about the lift I'd like to go, but I think 1.5 suspension might be enough for me.  If anything I'd like a little more articulation and straighter cv angles

Maybe with this, you wouldn't need any body lift:

2.5" Suspension System:

That kit costs more than I paid for the tracker and all new brakes and parts to get it on the road...

The 2 inch body lift from rocky road is 140$usd, I can sacrifice some rise quality I guess

Isn't the original body mount a lot wider than 2 inches?

make them so they sit above the frame mounts ...or spend the money. I would get the steering extensions thou just my 2c, steering shaft falls off and who know where it could happen. safety first and they are reasonable priced
