CARBURETOR!!!
« on: June 12, 2016, 04:51:44 PM »
Alright guys after several times of pulling my transmission and finally getting it going right I have found another problem. I took my first wheeling trip in it today at krocks and boy it was rough. My problem is when I go up a hill no matter the size it will eventually cut out and die. Guessing it is the carb. So me not knowing anything about a carb I need some info on what to do. It does great on level ground but when I start going up an incline it will eventually start cuttin out and then it will die. Hopefully someone can help me here it would be greatly appreciated.

It sound like you have a Weber carb. Post a picture.

I am about 99 percent sure that it is a webber carb. However I do not have enough cash in the pocket to go buying a new carb at the moment. I would like to know what I could do to get it to work atleast a little bit better. Atleast to where I can crawl a bit. Do you have any tricks.

I can't seem to find the thread at the moment. There is a thread with detailed mods to the weber 32/36 on this site for the issue your talking about. Involves some drilling and parts but didn't seem too bad to me. Ill keep looking to see if i can find it.

Edit: heres a couple

The quickest and easiest fix is to mount the carb with the fuel bowl facing the firewall.  However, the carb will then run rich/stall on steep descents and during hard braking.

For now I put a fuel pressure regulator on it maybe that will work for a little bit until I can get something different figured out.
