I have the Calmini 2.5 lift for the XL-7 on my truck and I am getting a rub with the passenger side spring and the spring retainer thingi thatsticks down into it from the top. The springs kinda look like this ) when sitting and the inside of that arc is what is rubbing. Does anyone know of a way to correct this?

I mainly hear when backing out of the drive, so is this something that can be fixed or just something you deal with lifted?

Also, I am missing the spring insulators, can this have anything to do with it? Does anyone know the thickness on those thing?

What's the joke? Do most folks do away with them anyway? I had the Rocky Road coil spacers on before and had those done at a local shop. They evidently took the insulators off at that time. I was planning on cutting down the coil spacers and putting those up in there. Any ideas how thick they should be? :-/

Sorry, but INSULATORS?  An insulator is something to keep things warm, or cool.  Can you take a pic, and post it somewhere, and link to it?  I wanna see these winter-jackets for your coils!

Wow, this is blowing me away here!  I've never heard of, or seen such a thing, and we see -20 F (-29 C) at least a few times per winter.

As far as I can tell from the manual they look almost like spacers, about a 1/8 to 1/4" and fit up in the top spring cup to keep it being metal to metal I think.

OK the kick springs just sit in the cup. It must be a road noise thing for those fancy XL-7 I would not think that 1/8 to 1/4 inch would make enough difference to rub though. My rear springs were curved at ride height but did not hit any thing with the aftermarket wheels. Give Calmini a call and ask them about it. It is probably something easy to correct or you would hear about alot more people with rubbing springs.

Oh, you guys have been jerking my chain!  DUH!  Sounds more like an ISOLATOR than an INSULATOR...

Yeah that's it!!! They list it on my parts list as an insulator, probably a typo. But now that you say it I have heard them called that.

When installing the springs did you rotate the springs so that they sit in the lower cup in the correct postition?

Yep both are in the slots that cut in the bottoms of the new A arms. I am wondering if there is a left and a right spring though. See my driver side makes no chatter wht so ever and at full droop the spring is almost straight. But the passenger side, even when at full droop is still bowed and touching the retainer shaft thing.
