Hi everyone, i am from Pakistan and exactly need to know how diesel engines behave in suzuki light weight 4x4s. Not asking how diesels behave overall but in suzukis to be exact. Here in pakistan we have the toyota 2.0 diesels from townace.
As we all know that suzukis are very light weight vehicles (aprrox 750/ 900kgs in total), so a general perception is that the diesel engines (in spite of the power) tend to dig in while powering in sand and slush. There is another observation that there is more wear and tear in the axles of diesel suzuki's because of the more low end torque. The third thing i want to ask is, if a conversion is to be planned, would the radiator of a 1.3 jimny work fine with a 2.0 diesel engine? And lastly, would a simple 2C (non turbo) be able to pull a long wheel base suzuki (approx 900kg's veh) up to 110 or 120km/ hr speed, or we need a 2CT or may be 3CT for that? Remember i have a modified lwb jimny sierra 1994.
