hey tortis I'm still working on mine it is a huge amount of study to figure out what wires do what and go where as it seems suzuki changed the pinout of there ecu almost every model
and even the fsm doesn't  cover all the wires you may find (i still have 3 unidentified) as for the long block swap the 2.5 intake manifold would need to be changed over to the new block along with any other manifolds and sensors that don't match. I will post my results and all changes I made when I am done with my swap.

3xl7sofar, thanks for the reply.  I went back to the shop that had the 2.7 deal, but after running a carfax on the vin it appears the 2.7 has at least 200k miles, so I'm back to doing a timing chain kit on my 2.5.  I'll be watching here to see how the swap turns out.

Almost there! actually got to take it for a drive today! I'm still having some issues with the shift lock and some of the a/c wiring. but running good only one code (po450)
I got back from the test drive and my blinkers stopped working along with my backup lights and auto daytime running lights. oh well back to the diagrams lol

ok if anybody is still watching this I am down to one wire. its the yel/wht wire the starts at the coolant temp sensor on the 2001 and runs to my temp gauge. The 04 it starts at the computer and runs to the temp gauge and isn't even hooked up at the sensor. the 01 computer doesn't have the pin out for it. any suggestions?

BTW this thing goes like hell with the 2.7!!!!

Are you running the '01 cluster with the '04 ECU?  Do you have the '04 cluster?

I'm not familiar with the '04 but on the '01 the temp sensor is a dual sensor - it has two separate sections, one for the gauge and one for the ECU - one possible option is to use the '01 sensor as designed.

I'm using the 01 ecu, the 01 sensor, and the 04 instrument cluster the temp on the cluster was controlled by  C51-3-19 YEL/WHT ECT sensor signal for combination
meter. the 01 temp gauge in the cluster  ran directly off the off the center wire on the (yel/wht) i will check what the voltage is off the sensor and post that. but i know its not pulsed.
04 ecu output of c51-3-19 (the * means its a pulse) (see fsm 99500-65d20-01e page 6-1-47 for 04.)
✱0 – 0.6 V
↑↓
4 – 6 V
(Repeated
indicator)
Ignition switch turned ON
(Output signal is 1 Hz active low duty
pulse. Duty ratio varies depending on
ECT.)
ECT 40°C = 45% ON duty
ECT 120°C = 85% ON duty

i might end up scrounging a ecu from a 2.7l that ran the same instrument cluster or just ignore it and install an aftermarket.

Why not just run the 01 cluster?  The temp gauge is analog and the voltage will vary with the temperature.

05 ECM C51-3 2 (ORN/BLK) goes to Engine Coolant Temp sensor.  The GRY/YEL wire from ECT goes to a splice with other computer grnding wires and connects to C51-3 25.

ECM E61 25 YEL/WHT goes to Auto AC controller G52 26 and Dash CPU G11 5

So ECT sensor goes to ECM C51-3 2 ORN/BLK  then your YEL/WHT wire from ECM E61 25 goes to Dash CPU plug G11 5

Good to hear that it is running (even with minor issues.
