Wheels for XL7?
« on: February 26, 2004, 03:47:35 AM »
I need wheels for my XL7.  I would like to fill in the wheel wells a little.  What wheel/tire sizes will fit?  Also, I can't find many aftermarket wheels.  Any recommendations?  Thanks.

225/70/16 will work. Will also give a much bigger choice of tires to pick from. Also do you plan on lifting it.  If so you may want to wait till after. .   As for a recommendation need more info.  off-road,  snow.......ect

Thanks, Blacknight.  No, I won't be lifting.  I'm not having a problem finding tires.  I can't find wheels that are 5x139.7 with +25 offset or wheels that are advertised to  fit an XL7.  Is that you black XL7?  Are those factory alloys?

Oh, this is too funny.

Quick, convert 139.7 mm to inches...

Done yet?

Hurry up!

It's EXACTLY 5.5 inches!

The XL-7 runs 5 on 5.5 just like the rest of our rigs.

Boobzooki - I think everyone knows 139.7 and 5.5 are the same.  I'm glad you found it funny.  Do you have any info to help or do you just have nothing better to do?

Hey guys, the 99+ is still 5x5.5 BUT the offset changed!
I'm have the same problem finding rims that will meet all the criteria for my 99 Tracker Conv. Rims that will fit on an old style Trackick won't fit on a 99+. The tire places around me tried a bunch of ones they thought might fit but no winners.(That I liked anyways)

Offset of +25 to (+40 I think)
Centerbore of 108
Spokes that are bent towards the outside of the car to clear the calipers.

I want 17's also but don't want an off-road style rim and also not chrome.

The rims are 16x7 with JJ back spaceing what ever JJ is ???
The real issue is the front and clearing the brakes.  You could put 15's on the back it just that dam front.   You could go up to 17's  or try emailing calmini and see where they got their rims from and what size  the "show" GV and Xl-7 that they did are.

This topic was up a month or two ago and Im pretty sure that it ended up like this...

Aftermarket wheels rub on the outside of the caliper. A 1 inch wheelspacer will fix that but then the offset is way off.

The JJ is the Flange code, from what I'm told.  The Vit is a J and the GV is a JJ.  This defines the curve and shape of the flange.  If you look at the GV, the flange is really deep compare to say that of the Sammy or Vit.  There are some aftermarket alloys that will fit, but no steel.

Spare GV steel rims is the best solution.  They pop up on Ebay now and then for cheap.

My 2dr Tracker has 15x5.5 JJ stock steel rims with 205/75 tires.  :'( Wish they where atleast 15x6 or 15x8 would be great! I wanted wider tires but could only go up to 215's so it's not even worth it.
I want 17x8's!!!  >:( So I could get some nice 235's or 255's

I had a tin top with 31x10.50's on stock 5.5" wide Sammy rims. They can fit, and little chance the bead with pop when aired down.

How could a 10.50" wide tire fit on a 5.5" rim? Ain't it to big? I was told not to go over 215 maybe not even that.

You can put almost any size tire on any size rim.  Might not be easy though.  I had 235's on my stock rims and they worked great.

Looked nice also.

Does anyone have brand/model names of aftermarket rims that fit an XL7?
