Not to clear on what you meant, are you saying if your go to put the shifter into fifth gear it is a neutral, the 1.6 8v or 16V what year?

Did you do the body lift at the same time? perhaps you don't have enough clearance for the shifter to fully engage fifth gear.

bug here at bokins: yes it is a 1.6 8 valve and it feels like nuetral when its in fith i was  told it might be the fork?and i am pretty sure i have enough through for fith  i have 1st -4th + rev? its kind of confusing?

You had fifth, before you swapped the motor right, then I don't think it is the fork, I would double check and make sure fifth is engaging, when I did my Body lift, I ran into the same problem and had to make some adjustments with my transfer case shifter, I could not get it into 4lo.
