Tires for a 4.5 RRO lift
« on: March 09, 2004, 09:20:41 AM »
Hi Guys,

I'm a '93 Kick owner with 1.5 OME lift + 1" spring spacers + 2" bodylift. I would like to know which is the maximum tire size for this setup without trimming anything and without rubbing.

I would also like to know your opinion (on street and off-road use) about Yokohama Geolandar G001 and BFG M/T.
Road is... The boring part that joins two mud tracks.

I have the same mods as you - I now run 235x75x15 BFM MT's without any problems other than a slight tweak needed to the camber - thank you for your advice. The BFG's are excellent in the mud here in the UK and acceptable on road (daily journey 30 miles only) where I have a soft top after all! I am told remoulds are noisier. They are as you will know just over 29" dia. I feel a "say"  30" x10" would look better and should fit, where my 1st choice was going to be the 235x75 x15 Blackstar Guyanes (30.5" dia) - these were too big pre lift and fouled the rear inner corner of the front arches, but would be OK post lift. I couldn't source any unfortunately. As you will have read lots of drivers get away with 31"x10.5" but you may need to do some bashing at that point to fit these. Even with 235's I notice my 5th gear is now only for cruising on the flat - no more overtaking in 5th!
