« on: February 25, 2004, 10:44:39 AM »
Of these 3 choices which one would u get and why and is there any other tires i should look at also just so u know these prices are canadian and they will be used on a vechile that will be driven mostly off road but will also see lots of city streets and some highway

BFGoodrich Tires 31X10.50R-15 BFG Mud Terrain Set of 4  705.99

Super Swamper 31X10.50R-R15LT TrXus Mud Terrain Set of 4  725.99

Super Swamper 31X11.50R-15 (Radial) TrXus STS Set of 4 735.99

Edit: and oh yeah based on these prices are these good prices and is there any other place in ontario canada that sells tires for these kinda prices anyplace else i asked was a lot more per tire than this place

I personally like a slightly wider tire so I'd go for the 11.50's if your wheel backspacing permits the extra rubber.
I paid $94ea for Swamper LTB's 31x11.5. They have been a good tire and never punctured. The down fall to some is that they are Bias.

I'm running  BFG mudders right now and thay aren't too bad.

I've heard some good things about the TrXus tires though.  (I personally love Interco tires and plan on getting some in the future)

Now it all depends on what you like to play on, or what kind of terrain you find yourself in most often.

Those TrXus sTs radials look pretty mean, but they don't look like they would clean very well in the mud.

The TrXus MTs look like they have way better side bite over the BFGs, not to mention sidewall protection.

So between those three I would probably go with the Trxus MT.

Do they offer them in bias ply too? or just radial?

The BFGs are the best for the street but might not have the side wall strength of the Swampers. The radial Swamper is the best for offroad but is REALLY LOUD on the street. I can't tell you about price unless you give me the US/Canadian conversion rate.
One final note: a "happy medium" on the tire choices you have given is the Goodyear Wrangler MTR. Not as loud as the Swamper, better side wall and rock crawler than the BFG.

my thoughts were the same on the sts is that the wouldn't clear the mud very well and the trxus MT tires are siped already from the factory

if i go with a 10.50 on stock rims am i gonna have problems i dont really wanna get spacers for the cost of them i've been told to just get new rims

for the most part i think i'll probly find myself on loggers trails and stuff i grew up in area were theres lots of dense forests with lots of nice trails adn sice i know them really well from going out there on my 3 wheeler when i was a kid those are where i'll probly be doing a lot of my offroading

1 us dollar is currently 1.33 canadian and shipping also has to be taken into account

When i searched the ntwonline site it directs me to the website i got these prices off for canadian sales

Ya, LTB is the best Interco Value, 33x13.5-15
were a buck and a quarter each, I spent $825
mounted balanced on new RockCrawler wheels
with a no question replacement policy, with all
the taxes. (set of 4 tires)

I don't remember what type of rig you have, but on my 96 Track the 30 X 9.5s on the stock rims rub pretty good in sharp turns.  The only mod I have is the coil spacers.

I would guess that 31 X 10.5s would be tough to clear without some sort of lift, at least on a track.
Good luck,

Round ones!

;D

I know that this will start up some debate, but in my limited experience, most offroad tires of equal class are indeed, created equal.

The 33's are $161 each at Wall Mart. I go them from a club members shop for $170 mounted and balanced.
