Tire Size Question
« on: February 03, 2004, 09:09:06 PM »
I'm going tire shopping in the next couple of weeks and need some info. I already have my Off Road tires picked out ( 35x12.50 Goodyear MTR's ;D).

I also need to get some street tires for the trip out to Moab. I want a decent set of tires but will only use them on long trips so dont want to spend alot.

What Road tires would you reccomend? ( I have a connection for deals on Goodyear ;))

What size would be best for interstate driving with:
Calmini 3+3 lift, 5.83 R&P, Stock 97 Tracker Alum. rims?

I would like to be able to run 75-80 at around 4000rpm.

Thanks,
Zig

You can play with gears sizes, rpms, and tire sizes at Randy's Rings and Pinion (http://www.ring-pinion.com/calculators/calculatorsind.html)

And if you can get good prices on Goodyears, I highly reccomend the Wrangler AT/S.  It's not so great in mud, but you don't need it to be.  The AT/S is fantastic on dry pavement, rain, and snow.  It's very good on logging roads and basic back country stuff.  And I have a set on an Explorer with nearly 60K miles and probably another 10K to go.  They handle great, as well.

I agree with the Wrangler AT.I believe a tire size of 31"x10,5x15  will be the best.
