Fuel Pump Needed?

When doing the 16V conversion - How much psi fuel pump is needed.  Do you have a favorite pump to mount in the frame rail by the gas tank?

Also, can we use the stock catalitic converter or do we need the Tracker Cat?

I too saw the post about the NAPA pump # 2P74028.  I checked out the NAPA website.  it said this pump was a 7 PSI.  I'll have to contact the local store to make sure.

I already have the adapter.  No pump came with it.

The wrecking yard where we got our engine threw in a pump from a 5.0 fuel inj. Ford pickup.  Hope it's ok.

The pump you need is from a 86-89 Ford Ranger with a 2.9 v6, it's the external pump. They also had an in-tank pump, don't try that one, it's a submersible pump that will be too hard to make work. The external, if you get it from a junkyard, try to get about 6" of fuel line frm either side of the pump because of fittings.
Another one you could try would be a 88-92 5.0 or 5.8 liter v8 F150, the external pump.
These 2 pumps are probably the best and easily adaptable pumps to use.
Hope this helps.
