srut tower brace

srut tower brace

I just talked to calmini and the guy said on the phone that real soon they will be coming out with a strut tower barce. And this time they were all abuot ansering my question.The next $900.00 that floats my way i no who im calling calmini i want a super arc kitt;)

The Pro=Comp Lift that I had, included a strut tower brace, but I have not see any but custom made since then.

What is the actual purpose of the strut tower brace? Does it just stiffen the body or something.....I guess i'm just dumb

It keeps the strut towers from moving inwards during hard suspension binding. It is good to have on cars also. I drag race a Mustang and just adding the strut brace kept the front wheel from lifting under throttle. So I removed it, what fun is slamming the gas on the street if you can't lift a wheel.

Wouldn't you be worried about twisting the unibody on it after so much of lifting one wheel?

On the IFS cars, what happens over time, especially with jumping, is the strut towers start bending inwards. Also, if you pop your hood and bounce up and down on the car you'll notice the strut towers flexing in and out. YIKES! The brace will triangulate (fancy engineering words) :) all this weak metal and stiffen up the front end of the chassis (nothing to do with the body) thus improving handling and durability.
