Back in the game. Wooo Hooo!
« on: January 30, 2004, 01:13:58 PM »
Looks like I'll be driving to NY on Sunday to try out some GV springs, shocks and struts on my Sidekick.  Yankee Tim and Bob are going to help me out. Tim assures me everything will bolt in and I should get a couple inches of lift. I know it itsn't going to be a rock crawler yet but at least I'll be able to hit more trails with it. I can't wait. My Samurai sat for 6 months before I sold it and I missed it the night after it was gone. Hopefully this will help ease the pain. I can't Thank Tim and Bob enough.

He's done.

GV springs are THE Old Man Emu alternative.

The GV springs yielded 2" of lift over stock form, measured from ground to frame.  It also leveled the truck.

GV and Kick shocks and struts are the same length, but the coils are longer and have 1 extra winding.  We flipped the front strut mount to extend strut length.  He still needs a 1.5-2" longer shock in the rear.

Looks good and WAY cheaper than the OME lift, and give a true 2" of lift.

New option!  Now kickers need to pester the GV owners who added lifts.

Tim,
Thanks to you and Bob for all the help.  I can't wait to get tires now.  Oh yeah the ice racing in the GV was a blast. It was awesome going 60 mph on the snow!!!

Awsome Jeff glad to hear you guys got it done and all lifted.  What size tires you want to run now.  I will see what I can dig up.  Just go some 36 TSL with 3/4 tread left for 300 so I am sure we can find you some 29's or some 30's for less!!!!  Let me know what I can do to help.  Talk soon.

Hey Tim were is the write up about the subie master cylinder????  I need to install one and I hear you are the man with the info!!!!!!!
