jeep.The BIG LIE!!
« on: January 25, 2004, 04:25:10 AM »
Anyone seen the new jeep TV commercial. It's the one with the fallen tree which blocks a bridge(looks like the Florida Keys). Anyways if you look closely, they "shaved" the top of the tree trunks so that the jeep has no problem not high centering. Build it a ramp and yes it is certified make believe trail ready............ Give me break!

LMAO
that's EVERY Jeep commercial. it shows some 40+ year old stock broker climbing a rocky "ramp" to get into his house or get some Starbucks (LOL)
and this "Trail Rated" business is total B.S.  i looked at the Jeep site to see who and what is giving Jeeps a "Trail Rating"  i laughed it's just a Jeep promotion that they developed to communicate with customers the possible trail wothyness of the vehicle they are buying.

they make it sound all official that Jeeps are now "Trail Rated" all it is, is a DCX promotional gimmic.  it would be different if they got some certification from a forrestry service or some thing independant that |"rated" their trucks...but they didn't.
GAY
i still love Jeeps, just not people that actually believe that "only in a Jeep" idiot speel.

Today someone (in a local forum) told me that I should search more on the internet to understand what a JEEP really means and that in US noone bothers and uses sidekicks.....That was his answer when I told him that Sidekicks can be very good offroaders and that in US jeeps are not considered to be THE offroaders as he thinks. They cant think anymore. The moto "Jeep ..there's only one" has gone deep in their minds. They get an expensive truck and they think that its the ultimate offroading machine.Have in mind that in Greece a JEEP Liberty for example ,has a selling price of around 35K to 45k USD depending on Lts ,extras.e.t.c

"trail ready" huh? :o

Define the type of "trail" it will be used on. ::)

Maybe Main Street USA is their idea of a trail? >:(

Trail rated, too bad most jeeps bought will never see anything other than pavement. Along with most other 4x4's now adays. I think I'll go buy an h2 and put 24's on it......WASTE OF MONEY!

LOL, Ya we all think about things around here.
Too bad the other board guys don't see the problem
with false addvertising.

Here's a slogan Jeep can use

Yuppie Tested, Pavement Approved
Real Trucks Are Built, Not Bought,
And Chrome Don't Get Ya Home.

An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

that's so true, lol.   If I was ever to get new rims on my transam, I would get plain old wagon wheels, paint them silver.  $2000 rims still look like crap when the'yr scratched up.   Wagon wheels dont look the best, but I have not cried yet because I hit a curb.  oh no, $45 for new rims... the end is near, hahahaha
