We've run Optimas for years. They work great. I currently have a yellow-top in the Kick, and have done a few things like leave the radio on for a really long time while I am working around it, or leave the dome light on all day. Still starts and runs like a champ. Plus all my radio (sing song and chit chat) gear doesn't bog anything down.

We've had them in past rigs with pretty big stereo setups, and go-go juice for the CBs, and they never fail us, and never leave us stranded.

Optimas are worth the money.

I'm running a Yellow top too. Plenty of juice and I couldn't be bothered fitting dual batteries. ;D

dies I'll get an Optima, but I've only had
it for 5 years and it just won't die  :P

I heard that the new one's are not as good as the old one's :-/ but maybe they will fix that if they get too many returns, just keep your invoice for it in the glove box ::) mine are y2k and older and all five of them are great so far 8) don't let them get below 12.2 volts you will be ok. Dennis.

Had an Optima yellow top.  It died 24 days after the full replacement warranty ran out. Didn't buy another one.

I run 2 red tops in my sami and I think there great. Always cranks fast even in the coldest conditions. I have the one on the driver side on an isolator so when key is off so is that battery. This way even if I leave something on I'll still have the fresh battery to start the truck.
A couple of months ago the ring terminal on my GM alternator broke and I didn't realize it til 4 nights later when my lights started to go noticeably dim. I still made it home.
Another nice feature is when you roll your rig the acid doesn't go all over the engine bay. :D

I love mine. Ive had a red top for several years. I run it dead around the campfire (sterio) many times a year. When the sterio stops working oddly enough the tracker will still start. :-* Gotta love em.  ;)

That's like when my Alternator died,
I was driving home and the radio
quit, and shut off, but the trucklet
kept on going, I was amazed  :o

They are all the same physical size.  The yellow top is the most amperage if I'm not mastaken.

I have a red top my self.  I had a realy long winch pull (helping out another guy) and the altinator couldn't keep up.  I drained it down to the point the winch stopped.  The truck never died, so I move out of the way and let another take over with their winch.

Maby a yellow would have helped????

Other than that I've had great luck with mine.  I've also had an altinator insident and my bat just got me home.  :P
