Hello all  
What rim size are fitted to Grand Vitara's in the USA?
Want to go to a 15in rim on my GV and wondering if anyone knows of a suitable rim to fit, having trouble finding rims to clear the front calipers, and the set that does has totally the wrong offset

I've read somwhere, rubbing the calipers is  the bugaboo for 15 " wheels On a GV/.   I think you're stuck with 16" wheels :-/

It's funny ... Greaner grass ,  I want 16's on my tracker  

I want to keep the gearing correct and there are no mud tyres in 215-60-16 (in uk anyway) plenty in 215or235-75-a5 tho, there is a picture of a gv on 15's in the readers rides section, with steel mangel's there is only interference of about 3 mm and it is on the face of the caliper not the outer edge so I am hoping ther is a wheel out there that fits

You could fit spacers, I know a guy in Dartford who uses them on a GV without probs. It hasn't had any hard off road use so I don't know if it would rub at full articulation.

mangels would need a 1 in spacer to clear, good quality spacers cost more than the wheels :-/
would rather get a good set of alloys if i have to spent money.

Oh result, can get Goodyear MT/R's in 215-65-16's
Downside is they are £94 each  

Have 2 options then:

215-70-16 Goodyear AT/R's  or BGF AT's |removethispart|@£80

or

215-65-16 Goodyear MT/R's £94

Fancy the muds myself, anyone used em?
Bearing in mind I do 25k road miles a year, are the MT/R's slippy in the wet?

I'm running 237x75x15 BFG (they're the best!) MT's on my '94 Soft Top, and they're brilliant off road & acceptable on road - you have to shout in a soft top anyway!  

I previously ran 215's for 12 months and was pleased with them.

Try a search on eBay (uk) "BF Goodrich" - you'll be pleasantly surprised with the deals available, and remember carriage will be about £10 per tyre & fitting say £10 each.

I really like my MTR's.  Their quite for an off road tire.  Seems to be holding up well.

True, but if you can't get rims..... What tyres are you running at present? If you have the Bridgestone Duellers then I wouldn't worry about the muds in the wet.

yup, got the current dueller's on, they are a bit on the dodgy side in the wet   , reckon they are v hard as I have done 15k miles and they dont seem to be wearing much  

MT/R's it is then, had good reviews on all the boards I have asked on, now then, anyone got a spare £500 they can lend me
