Be careful in a samurai with that stuff, I would just stick with gl5 or maybe mix it fifty fifty. I took my samurai t-case apart at 113k to put in 4.1:1's and it looked like new inside used all the old bearings and seals and still going strong!

Go for it!

Not sure about the Samuri,  but my 03 Vitara took 8 litres of GL5 Amsoil Series 2000.  That was for both differentials, transfer case and transmission

My trusty Chilton's manual says this:

Transmission = 2.75 pints
Transfer case = 1.7 pints
Front axle = 4.2 pints
Rear axle = 3.2 pints
Total = 11.85 pints or 6 quarts (~ 5.6 liters)

If the synthetic lube will really improve gas mileage, will it be enough to offset the extra cost? I doubt it. IMHO, a good quality 75W-90 will do.
