Wheeling with Jeepers 12-28 (pics)
« on: January 03, 2004, 07:11:47 AM »
Went wheeling with some MI jeepers 12-28.  Not a lot of time for pics so I only got a couple.
Maybe it's time for a front locker.

The little Tracker that could.

A very tired 8 valve.

We may be underpowered but at least we don't have D35's ::)
All in all a good day and I earned some respect from the Jeep crowd by making it up that hill.  An XJ with 3" and 31's tried 4 times, he never did make it.

91 LSI  29X11.5 SSr's 3"body-2"suspension lifts.  Rear Locker.  Cal Mini header-no cat-2" exhaust.  Viper Yellow Duraliner.  Ice cold A/C!!! 50k actual miles
Stripes (I didn't do them) ARE GONE!!!!!!!
92 GMC Typhoon my SUV for good roads...."stock"? try me.

Cool shots, more would be better. With that front locker you'd be able to drive up that sidewall and actually drive the hill off-camber. That would be cool.

As for earning respect, do you consider yourself as 'earning' their 'respect' or just showing that you as a 'driver' are capable with what you drive.  In all comparison, these Suzuki's with little money sure do go a long way in comparison to those other vehicles with a lot more money on the trails.

What would be really 'earning respect' is if you got to drive that XJ up the hill.

I could have got the XJ up there......it wasn't mine nothing 30+mph wouldn't fix ;D.

It wasn't locked so when at the top he would just unload two wheels and stop moving.

I have $2750.00 total into my rig.  That's 8 or less payments for some of the Jeeps out there.

On that hill it took me two tries,  1st time I hit it at 4k in 2nd in low and ran out of juice at the top.  Remember this is on 3 1/2 cyls.  (#4 exhaust valve not seating).

I have had some 4X4's before ( Bronco II-Full size Bronco-Exploder-Sami), but they were my DD's and I was young and broke.  I've really only part time wheeled and I'm still very mild compared to some on this board

My Tracker makes me look good wheeling.  I have spent most of my time racing below.

We put more miles on my Track that both the Grand National and Typhoon last summer.  Top down-dog in the back-crusing down two tracks in the woods- the meaning for summer in Michigan.

Next time out (Sunday?  Looks like 8-12"'s of snow tonight!!  ;D ;D) I'll snap more shots.

Thanks guys

I have an ancient  1.4  Sony that uses a 3.5 floppy disks but those pics were taken on a $60.00 35mm with 100 speed film.  I scannned them at work on a cheapy HP scanner-printer-copier.  Pure luck they turned out,  I just learned how to post pics a week ago.
I don't miss the touchy black finishes in comparsion to the Duraliner. ;D
