ABS Question
« on: January 03, 2004, 06:34:24 AM »
Ok, after i did my swap i left the rear ABS shit unhooked because i didn't want have to wire it in. Brakes worked fine but i want to take all the ABS stuff off.
Sometimes i would get a loud clunk or click when putting it in gear making me believe the ABS proportioning valve was limiting my brake pressure and not holding the brake drum tight enough.
???Question is do the ABS version and non-ABS versions use the same master cylinders? I took off the ABS valve today and was able to basically just bypass it by conecting both lines that lead to it using a existing line block.
During this winter i would like to get all the issues taken care of as a result of the swap. I was having to much fun when it was warmer out and just wanted to drive it. ;D

Just checked autozone's online listing for trackers from 95 to 90 and they all call for the same part#,even the 2wd models. So other than removing the ABS valve it should just be making sure the lines are fed the same way. ;)
