Familiar faces
« on: November 23, 2003, 11:41:34 AM »
Ok, now I know...........I dug up my zookimelt 2002 tape and lo and behold, who is on there, in their respective glory?

Mike Hagen...........not much air on the lap run but the mud run and bounce was impressive. :P

Zukipilot with broken timing belt ???

Chunk puttering along but got more air than MIke Hagen. 8)

I totally forgot I even had this tape, I watched it right after I got it before I really knew of any zuke sites.

I recognized Hagen's machine by:
the flag.
the location of the fire extinguisher
the belly pan
the pony tail.
and the fact he was one of the few who had the hamster pegged at redline.  So there is truth to his tagline!  ;D

I don't live in the hoosier state anymore but I can tell you if I did, I would be there.  Just as a bystander though.  Still making payments on my rig.

Is there a melt tape for 2003?

Chunk got more air but who took home the trophy? Sorry to dissapoint but keeping the tires on the ground seems to be the only I way to accelerate! :P I missed first place in 03 by something like 3 tenths of a second. I dont plan on letting that happen again!

No blown motors yet. ::) Id like to keep it that way. As long as you keep a load on the engine MY belief is the rev limiter will save it.

Are you going to ignore chunk and keep your current rig or do you have plans for another project? ;D

??? Ignore Chunk?

I had plans for another build but I cant afford another full build and I refuse to do it half ass. So any plans are on hold for about 2 years, unless my funds change.

I could hear your rig crank and it sure did sound like a motor with a broke belt.

My question......aren't these interference engines?  Did you get lucky in that you didnot smash a piston or valve?

The 8V is not a zero tolerance motor. A new belt and it was fine ;D I'm not sure about the 16V, but I think it is a zero tolerance.

The red one with flames, on 35's was Dan Bour (rpm4x4). The grey(silver) one was Glenn Wakefields(rro).
