I've always been pretty proud and happy to know that my Sidekick and thousands like it were made here in Canada.  For me a legacy has ended.  I guess Suzukis are going to only come from Japan and Korea for now on.

I drove by CAMI once on my way to Sarnia Ontario, I saw the lot full of newly finished 2 and 4 door Vitaras just waiting to be shipped all over North America.

I'm kind of worried about Suzukis future now...or am I over reacting? ???

Its cool. GM wants cami to assemble a uniwannabebody Equinox or some other god awful GM creation and there ain't enough room for it and the vitara.

Plus, zuke has capacity at Iwata where the GV and XL 7 begin life so its a no brainer to source the Vitara from there.  Most of the parts that were used in these rigs came from japan anyway.  perhaps by making the whole rig in japan prices can be held or perhaps decreased a bit.
The Zuke is on its way out.  Getting a vehicle that will behave and be supported by the dealer.

Iwata = Japan ???

Hey do you suppose if Suzuki wins the CR lawsuit
they would build a real purpose built 4x4, like a
smaller scale Defender, or ???, or abandon the
small 2 door in favor of Soccer Mom mobiles.

Made in Japan ain't so bad!  ;D

For all you zuke drivers out there, unless you've done some mods, your entire drivetrain is made in Japan.   :D

Sourcing these rigs from japan is a good thing I think, the quality is there and being closer to suppliers should mean lower costs.........for anyone who wishes to join the ranks of dedicated zuke owners! ;D
