Wow, I just saw that your Turbo Project....I'll bet that makes it pull real hard on the black top.  Do you see any benefits off-road with it?

I picked a well matched turbocharger for the buildup,
it actually boosts starting just out of the idle range
at about 1500-2000 RPM. Yes it does work well in
the dirt, and even with the tall gears and tires it gives
some of these full size SUVs a run for the money

This looks like a future project for my 16v tracker.  Based on what you're saying, I'd love to see the impact it would have on a 16v engine.  :D

Thanks for the info!

Properly tuned and injected a 1.6 16V would produce
about 200 HP, under moderate turbo boost (6-9 PSI)
an engine will produce roughly double the HP of an NA
(Naturaly Asperated) engine, and significantly more
torque, (especially with an auto trans), between shifts the boost
spikes 1 or 2 PSI as there is no lag or spool down of the
turbo as with a manual trans when you let off the gas to shift.

What makes that so interesting is the light weight of the tracker.....I'd say you could really make some people on the streets look twice....

there is a select group of people who know
what a turbo sounds like ..... these are the
ones that really look hard, and wonder

I'll tell ya what, if i did play in the mud then i would have a fully race preped 16V tracker engine with twin turbos running 16 P.S.I.  but who needs 400 HPs any way????

P.S.  i have thought about a turbo but they hold such high heat that once the cold water and mud hits it, say bye bye turbo.  but mabey i'll have to build a street Tracker?  ;D  watch out wildgoody hear comes 1fastracker  lol   lata Stu

I wish i only had better mechanical skills to do that myself.  Right now i'm just trying to learn some of the basics besides changing my oil.    But my sidekick has dreams.

I'm hoping to put one of those on mine.   When i get the time to do so and another vehicle to drive in the mean time.

Only time will tell.  First will have to learn to rebuild.  then the rest will come.   That solid axle kit also looks pretty neat.

Jdawgjayj,    J Dawg JJ ???
I see ur into Prospecting as well  :)
I like to get out when I can and do some
Nugget Shooting, panning or just wheeling
and looking for lost gold story locations.

Too bad you live in Oregon, that's like 2
days drive from So. Cal, I have some friends
here who want to plan a prospecting trip to
the desert now that the weather is cooled and
we've had a litle rain out there to wash some
placer down to the creek beds, it's time to break
out the GoldMaster and do some hunting.

I was working on a 6" floating dredge to work
out here in the Colorado River, by El Centro and
Blythe Ca.

I was going to use a Catamaran for the floats
and a Jet Ski for the pump and power to move
the dredge after launch, then convert to dredge
pump after anchor drop.

Too bad I had to move, I sold the Cat  But I still
have the Jet Ski, someday I'll get it put together.

;)

Hey There.  Yeah gold prospecting is alwys fun.  Could pay for some of the stuff you do and its exciting.

Well for me the drive down there would be roughly 19 hours.  One good work shift ;).    In the valley its a nice cruise speed of 90 or so... (since others are doing it anyway)

Do much Drywashing?  There was a place i wanted to try out off a dirt road from Primm, NV  that runs out then its a paralel dirt road along powerlines all the way to a crossroad that comes out to baker.  (Kinda rough i know.)  I saw an out cropping of quartz from the ground and round rocks that looked like ancient riverbed.  Haven't been there for over a year and a half. I do plan on going back though.  Up here the rivers are all too cold without a wet suit to be dredgeing.

But the early snows makes for good 4- wheeling.

I've always wondered what size of dredge capacity could be ran with a Jet ski motor.  Have any Idea on the GPM that are produced by the jet?  I'm guessing quite afew if they can send you going high speeds.

But i'm looking forward to next season should have a 2 or 3 inch dredge/ highbanker combo.

My first goals though are to get my Suzuki projects going so i can get to those sweetspots that others cant get to.
