Rock Crawling experience?
« on: November 13, 2003, 12:06:02 PM »
Went out today and found some pretty good rock crawling , almost to good .. A Samurai with a rear locker and a 4.16  T-case  has alot of climbing power , I was very impressed with it .. I was climbing and the front wheels came of the ground and I was still climbing,I almost went over backwards , lesson here is never under estimate the power of a Suzuki with a rockcrawler T case and locker ... and to take along extra underwear Ha Ha ..

I'd go with the lower t-case gears first.  You'll fry a clutch too quick if ya don't

Yes lower T- case gears , restored power like haveing a new engine .. but if its cost you go by its the locker its less than $200 and the 4.16 Tcase gears are over $400 , and I dont think the lower diff gears are even a concideration at this point , even for me, I have plenty of power and if I needed more , I would go for the 6.1 T-case gears ..

Next up for me would be a 1.6 transplant to replace my worn out 1.3

If a Slip Yoke Eliminator were available,
would the engine and transmission together
from a Sidekick be desireable, or would you
still want the adapter to mount the Kick engine
the the Sammie Trans ???

Depends upon what you are doing.  Sometimes it would be nice to have an Auto in the Sammy, but I prefer the stick shift.  I'm gonna go the adapter route and use my Sammy Tranny
