Going to larger tires
« on: November 03, 2003, 07:52:57 AM »
I have a stock 92 Tracker and plan on getting BFG AT in 235/75/15 put on stock rims.  Can I do this safely without a lift or gearing changes.  How will this effect....
Steering?
Handling?
Power?
Rubbing?
milage?
I am new to this stuff so all info is much appriciated.
Thanks in advance for all replies.

We did 235s on our stock rims.

Steeing was fine.
Handling was fine.
Power was fine.

Rubbing; the rear side of the front fender was ever so slightly touched.  We ended up using a hammer to pound it back a bit, and then had no problems.

Milage; was off due to the tire size increase, but it hardly affected the MPG.

Good luck!
