4.3 V6 swap?
« on: September 04, 2003, 04:25:49 AM »
I was wondering? Has anyone performed this swap on their own? I know that there is some kits in the market, but I would like to do my own swap. I was just looking for someone that had done it so I can get some tips.

If not Ill keep ya posted with the progress. I will also be selling my freshly rebuilt 1.3.

So far I have it narowed down to :

4.3 Vortec V6 and a 200R tranny..  :)

we put a 4.3 -turbo 350 trans in an 88 sammy fuel injection and all very nice swap. we needed a body lift for it to fit and after alot of searching found that the exhast manifolds from an astro van work best they look like shorty headers.the stock t-case is mounted in a cradle and goes directly to the trans.you may want to consider using a gm t-case because the sammy case won't take serios abuse.its turning 37in boggers on toy axles.last thought is don't be cheap on the radiator make sure it runs cool.summit racing has griffin radiators in a bunch of sizes put what you can fit.
