while in 4wd....

when im in 4wd and i turn the wheel all the way its like the fornt wheels lock and let go repeatedly...does any one else have this problem..a few of my firends wit  4x4s similar in age said thiers do it also...i was wondering if i should be worried or not.

When the transfer case is in 4WD the front and rear differentials are locked together. When you turn, the radius of the rear and front axles' circles are different so the drivetrain tends to bind. What you feel is the drivetrain binding and slipping to relieve the bind.

I got the same problem with my 2000 Tracker. When I go out on the beach and I'm trowing sand around lol if I turn the steering wheel hard in either direction I can hear and feel a binding in the front end. I feel it's the CV since it only happens during full lock.

This only happens to me on hard ground,
YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO USE 4WD on HARD GROUND  >:(
