The dunes...
« on: August 17, 2004, 08:12:56 PM »
Well, I finally had a few days off and went out to the local sand dunes to spin some tires. This was the first time I have ever taken my wife on some 'bumpy' trails.  ;D It was awesome, she was lovin' it and she even drove up some badass inclines. Well, we go home and she's on the phone talking to everyone she knows and lining up times when I can take her family and friends. Well, what turned out to be a few days of wheeling, turned out to be 5 days of wheeling and touring. All I can say is everyone was impressed with the 'ol putt-putt. I'm still practically stock and a lot of the guys' eyes were popping out of their heads when we went rippin' through some deep mud and tight&fast trails. Most fun I've had in my Zuke in a long time! I'll share some pics later... to lazy (tired), arms are sore and have to go to bed :'(

Yeah, I was checking out an '85 sami the other day, but it was pretty hurtin' and the guy was asking 'what I thought' was too much. 3000. He had a custom 3 inch lift and a new header on it, but that was it. It looked like he tried to patch up the rust and then he painted it with what appeared to be household paint. Looked like he had some fun in it, but I'm not sure if I'll go look at it again. My wife wants a two door kick (to match the 4-door ::) ) I found one for 1500 that was too good to pass up but I still don't have the cash to buy it.

wow 3000 for a sammy?  i'm still working on getting a sammy and the one i'm leaning for is only 400 bucks.  its got a blow engine and rust is just starting, so i think i can catch it before it gets bad.  my friend has 3 of them he buoght to start his next project.  one hes driveing daily, one is going to be the one that gets all the mistakes, and the third one is going to be the super built one, you know, with stuff like rear steering Yota axles :D
