Warn or Superwinch is what I would go with.
If you go with Warn you could get there hub fuses.

Do those hub fuses protect the hub or the axle?

Also, I am wondering if it will still allow the use of a backspacer with the hub on?

Also, I only see the Grand Vitara listed, do they work with ours? And if that's the case why doesn't an airlocker for the front of the GVs work in ours?

Trackers, Sidekick, Grand Vitara, and the Xl-7 all use the same hub.  As for the air locker you can use it but you need to swap some parts from a sidekick into it.  You could even use a lockright

I won a set of Warns off ebay. Tried to get them installed and bent it. The cap wouldn't align so I 'forced' it a little. Went to Superwinch as I have a relatively easy connection for replacement. Swapped right directly in. No problems. Went with Supers due to using them on a 92 Bronco with no problems. To add, they are total replacement when you break one. Only problem, you still need a trail replacement. For the -7, I've kept the drive flanges for trail spares. Check my webshots for compare pics.

Suggestion, put together an axle repair kit to include the tools necessary for hub swap, axle swap, tire plugs, etc. I took a Walmart tool box (2 tier), added the necessary tools, seals, spare bolts, nuts, lock-out, etc. This saves a lot of wheeling time.

Where are you guys getting your axle swaps? I have searched around junkyards all over and can't seem to find any XL-7s in the southeast which is crazy I know but I really didn't want to buy new.

There are several recylcling vendors that sponsor this forum board. Hawk is one that I can recall off the top of my head.

For researching for parts, I suggest http://car-part.com/. Lets you search entire US, regions, or the specific state. Provides little detail to overall condition of item and a phone to contact the 'yard'.
I've found a front housing for my XL7, but doesn't clarify to be cast steel or aluminum. I'm debating on the upgrade for the Anvil. Got a few measurements and will see if there is room for the Anvil under the -7's bigblock engine. Then TORA axles would work, and I would benefit from flanged axles.

It's not a matter of space for the Anvil but how wide.  The xl-7 and a sidekick use the same front houseing (for the most part) It's the mounting points to the frame.  You would need to find someone willing to widen the mounting points of the Anvil to fit the XL

That's simple enough, LOL, (yah right, if it was it would be done already) . Cut off the mount on the anvil, locate the mount in the frame, configure Anvil location, configure 1/4" plate to mate to the anvil to the frame mount. Spot weld to attach, remove and complete weld. Done.

Only concern I have is the available space. I couldn't place my fingers between the oil pan and the diff housing where my crack is (sshhh). To put JB Weld up there, I used a popcicle stick. To clean it prior, an old toothbrush and brake clean. I know I didn't get all of the dirt out.

Got my Warn premiums in just in time for Zuwharrie. Put them on the night before in about an hour. Went right on with no problems. Performed without a hitch for four days of abuse.

Make sure to check the hub bolts as they have been know to loosen up after wheeling.

Also any pics from wheeling???
