Are there any IFS rigs ......
« on: June 28, 2005, 11:25:22 PM »
that can make it to Paragon in August to do some rock crawling.  I would like to see how good they are in person to compare to my samurai.

I do not post on here to often becuse I don't have much to say about the Track/kicks.  How about changing my mind.  I would love to be able to chime in once in awhile.

I am talking about some nice size rocks.  I used to wheel with Kerry. So the only opinion I have so far is that they can go on the rocks if you carry lots of spare axles.  ;) ;D ;D  I also learned that when you own one you become very proficient at changing them. ;D ;D

Please come change my perspective.  ;D ;D ;D

No comments? Guess you guys are all just riding on dirt roads and mud.  ;D ;D ;D

Come on even if you can't go to Paragon prove me wrong. Sow me how IFS Track/Kicks can take the beatings on the rocks and not break axles like a slighly modified Samurai on 33's can.

I'm not bashing I like them I owned a couple I just went back to a Samurai to Trail/Rock Crawl with because of the capabilities.

I still have an XL-7 too. It's bone stock. I wheel with Blackknight and have spotted for him. I am amazed what we can get him through but of course with the limited amount of aftermarket parts available and the price tag of the repairs it's not quite feesable for me to build it up yet.

There are a number of very capable IFS rigs here... including Mr. Hagen, Zig, Bobzooky, etc. who all play in the rocks.

LOL, go search for some vids of Zig, review them and report back! ;D
All things must start and end, the key is to not let them start and end in the same place.

Other rigs, 84 Sub 305 High output dana 44 front dana 60 rear turbo 350 tranny, 205 gear drive transfer, 10" lift 38.5 swampers

;D Yea, that looks FUN :o Is that in Paragon?

Wait, who's got a Video of me :o I haven't seen that yet, I hope all of my clothes are on :P The only video I have seen besides some club member stuff was Ack catching me in the Melt Rally as my timing belt broke :'(

So far everything has held up good but I'm far from stock axles. Currie Ford 9" in the Rear, and an Anvil w/ Hagen built Maxima shafts in the front. I have beat the hell out of them for about a year now (on this set up) and they are hanging in there great.

I have considered going to 35's but I realy like the non-axle breakage thing right now. So I'm gonna stick with the 33 MTR's till I wear them out.

Sweet Set up Zig! I tried Doing the search and came up with nothing! LOL

That is actually one of the easier hardcore trails at Paragon. They have alot more difficult and easier trails there. That one is actually called Q and is a short Uphill Rock Garden.

With 15,000 acres they have it all.  Let me tell you if you ever get a chance to get out this way, it's definately worth a visit.

Cool, I definately will :) I've been wanting to go there and the park in NC where the Zuwharrie ride is held :-/ With all the new parks poping up everywhere, I've gotta get out and try some more new ones.

Now you see what I mean about Axles?
I would love to see a IFS rig keep up on the rocks, but I must say personally I haven't seen one without breaking axles.  Maybe if Kerry Built those idestructable Axles it could've....

I break one or 2 axles a year. I wheel very often. Usually every 2 weeks i will take a couple days. I would love to hit paragon. Im actually going right past there in august but its my 10 year anniversary vacation. Might not make it another year of marrage if I go wheeling on this trip! I might just throw it out there and see what happens. ::) If you really want to know, I live 10 min from the Minneapolis airport and my dad owns a huge property... How much are tickets? ::)
