I thought Saturn Vue when I saw it.   :-\

But guess I'm not in Suzuki's target market...

I like it.  I'd trade my XL-7 for one of those. I don't plan on wheeling with it though I have the Samurai for that.

well my .02 worth is lame  :( :( :(

i agree with zag that suzuki should get back to their roots, and sell more basic vehicles. most of these new cars with all there devices like multiple airbags, climate controls, and sensors up the wazoo, are all basicly what i refer to as five years vehicles. after five years small things that cost alot to fix start to show up. basic cars tend to cost less, and are easier to fix.

now all jeep has to do is come out with a deisel rubicon, and they'll have a real winner. to me the jimny is would sell like crazy in north america. atleast in my opinion it would.

but anyway the new vitara is for yuppies  >:(

Most of the vehicles today are built like this. I thnk the new Grand Vitara is going in the right direction.  As far as a trail rig goes, it sure would be nice to see the Jimny come over here or even see something new and simple with a frame and SOLID AXLES come over from Suzuki again Smaller than the Vitara with a nice  little deisle in it and an off road package.  ;D

Just read in "Car and Driver";

Front engine,
Rear (2wd) or all wheel drive,
Unibody chassis with front struts and rear multilink IRS.

They say loaded up it should run about $24k.
Can he say that here
Later,

Ohhh Daddy like!!!
That bad boy would be soooo much fun sliding sideways on a gravel road!
Granted it's probably not going to be a builder for huge tires but as a daily driver it would rock.  Just the fact that it has a standard transmission rocks. Hmm I think I might have to trade in my dodge on one of these guys. Some 1" coil spacers and some Goodyear MTR's and that would be a great looking rig! Add a low profile roofrack and you got a great expedition vehicle. Did anyone check out the warranty? That warranty is killer!

Good Job suzuki. First late model that has caught my eye!

Suzuki said a while ago that it was going to base their new SUV off the Equinox which is based off the Vue.

I't just a re-bodied Equinox/Vue.  and it's the same exact truck as the pontiac Torrent onlty a few minor exterior bits (i.e. diff head lights, tail lights, etc)  I saw it last year at suzuki and was impressed...but inimpressed that it was simply a repackaged GM product...i agree Suzuki needs to revisit it's roots somewhere in it's line-up.

What's the difference between the base AWD/4wd system and the 4 mode system of the fancy model?  I like what I see so far.  For $19000 it looks like a good deal.

Its an Equnox. >:( Thats just what I feared when I first heard. So is this the end of the line for a real framed 4wd Suzuki?  ::) Suzuki needs to make one more vehicle in their lineup. Something that truly replaces the tracker/sami. I can assure you that 15 years from now nobody will be chatting on a board about how much they love thier 06 GV. Suzuki needs to take a look back at what made them what they are today. Beloved hardcore Suzuki enthusiasts will dissipate with this lineup. If Suzuki built a new Sami/tracker replacement I run out and buy one today. Not these things with power everything seating 10. They are nice but not a Sami/Kick replacement. Something that has removable top, 5 speed, real frame, Tcase, under 3000lbs, and under 15k. If they build that I will be very happy.
