so what u guys r saying is one should just wait and do it right. so what do i do in the mean time, not go wheeling. i priced DOM tubing and sch 40 pipe both 2" and there was a $380 difference in the pipes favor. god knows when my budies call and say lets hit the trails the lack of a cage is not going to stop me. so pipe has to be better than the factory sheet metal. i say hit with a 20 lbs hammer if it dents it's not good. go thicker

Getting back to the original question if you have a pipe bender get some cold formed er welding pipe and start bending it will do the job, on the other hand a tube bender needs some tube. There are many threads on the Australian based Outerlimits site if you search for “dawnâ€? or “pipe bendingâ€? at www.outerlimits4x4.com/
The  general conscious is a cheap die usually won’t last long enough to finish a cage and you need to invest in something slightly better.

tracker8wr,

Check price on 1.5" or 1.75" HREW (.125 wall). I think 2" is a little large (but your choice), and DOM is overrated.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

I'll agree with tubing instead of pipe. MY rail is made of dom tubing and when i fliped it end to end three times doing forty mph i was gald i paid extra and got tubing instead of pipe.  It may cost more but i think the point of a roll cage is in case something happens not just for the slow speeds wrecks. Correct me if i'm wrong but aren't most zuks on here daily drivers to so that means they see speeds of 60 mph. And since we modified are handling for off road means on road is worse. Ever got a flat tire doing 60 when running 37 inch tires. ITs scary!
