94 Geo Tracker 4WD Auto 1.6 8V - Went to get NGK plugs - oreilly and advance auto say BPR-5ES  but the haynes manual says BKR-6E for 91 and newer. The haynes, oreilly and advanced say to gap at  .32 but sticker under hood says .28 .

Anyone know whic h is right? The plugs I removed were BPR-5ES but do not know if they were original or incorrect put in at replacement. Trying to track down a poor running issue.

If anyone has the owners manual for a 94 Tracker(TBI) 8V please see what plug it says.
Thanks,

My FSM for the 8v says NGK BP(R)6ES with a gap of 0.27" - 0.31" ( 0.7 - 0.8 mm )

My FSM says BPR5ES, plug gap  0.028-0.031 (0.7mm-0.8mm). My handbook says BPR6ES, (BP6ES also if legal) 0.028-0.031. If there doesn't look to be any damage to the 5s and they don't go off when the engine gets hot then I would probably stick with them.
Edit: I just reread your other post - give the 6s a try, maybe the 5s are fading under load. let us know if you detect any difference, I need to check what is in mine. I always found that on a long trip after 2 hrs or so continuous at 70mph or more the engine 'went off' , couldn't hold speed on slopes and needed lower gears more often, I wonder if I have 5s fitted too.

Is the 89 TBI ? I think the 6 number is for the 16 valve. Do you think gapping at 32 instead of the 28 on the sticker will matter? Well I will find out Tommorrow. I also noticed my front hubs are very hot after driving and I have a roar on the highway but can't tell where it is from. I thought it was tranny roar but not sure. I know I am liking it better now even though it is loud on the highway. It is also a capable 4 WD.
Thanks,

Yes the 89 is a TBI
Well at least when it was new

Now it has a few extra add ons

Well I'm quoting the FSM for the 8V and the handbook numbers for the 8V. I didn't take any notice of the numbers for the 16V but you could be right. I don't think there is a sticker under my hood but I will check tonight.
