Bang for the buck a cam will make the most
difference, a header next and a 2" exhaust,
after that a K&N filter would help with the
deep breathing.

The bigest problem with the Cam is the head
has to come off the get the cam in and out  :(

I put off doing my Cam until I had to pull the head
for a valve job, and then I should have done the
rings (200,000 miles) but the power was really
there after the swap.

As usual

Wild has hit the nails on the head. I would do the header, 2 or 2 1/8 exhaust with a good low restriction muffler and a K&N Drop in filter first.
When the engine is ready to be redone then the cam and if you check around the board there are some other things you can do at the same time the engine is being rebuilt.
