Full Time Front Hubs
« on: August 25, 2005, 05:53:46 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I am in search of a set of front hub replacements. Not sure of the Suzuki truck they are from but I know they exist.  They look like a set of "full time 4wd" hubs. They take the place of the normal auto or manual hubs on the front axle.   These lock the axle engaged all the time.

I need them for my full floater axle on the rear of my truck. I have tried all hubs, stock and aftermarket and they are not staying locked on the highway. If you have a lead on a set or know the vehicle they came on please let me know.

Thanks Larry

I think you are looking for the front lockouts
that come on the newer Trackers with the
shift on the fly type system, I belive they are
electric activated like on a Grand Vitara

Please elaborate on the hubs that are not
staying locked, why do you think this is ???

I was planning on a similar setup, but with
lockouts, I might need to rethink the setup.

Thanks

i have had the same problems with my floater rear. i put on drive flanges, not sure what they came off of but it is a newer zook (like a xl7 or gv) if i can find my kids camera i'll take some pics and post them

WARNING... they do not stay tight, i have to continualy check them and tightn them up once a while (lost one once)
but thay do solve the problem of the hubs disengaging and you can unbolt them and slide the axel out

I have never had any trouble with them
on the front of the Kick

they came on sammy's as standard equipment.
free wheeling hubs were an option with sammy's.
I might have a set, will do some digging .

hubs on the back with a locrite =bad news
too much torq and side movement when the locker does it's thing, kicks it out and rounds the leading edje and you through the hub away (and the day of wheeling)
here are pics of the flanges

let me know if you have any questions

As has been mentioned the early zooks had these standard and the other option is the newer GV's and XL-7's. I found this out when investigating building a full floater for the rear. I was told to use these as the manual hubs don't tend to cut it in this use by someone who has a full floater on a Sammy and had them fail but the flanges work fine.

i got both sets at the wrecking yard, i think like $20 each set. the only thing i carry spares of are...rear floater axels , a spindle and those drive flanges (cause they do loosen for no reason)
use grade 8 bolts (i use hex key bolts)and a lock washer NO LOCTITE(if they break you will never get them out, and they will break)
the full floater is great BUT it does require frequent maintinenced
if i had to do it all over again i'd go toyota axels(and still might)they are not unbreakible but they are tougher than hell
