I just got done adding rear flares to the Goblin so it's now completely street-legal. I slapped on a pair of sammy flares. Here's the pics:




I figured I'd post pics since I'm sure I'm not the only one that's interested in how this mod would look. I think it looks pretty good myself. What about you guys?

Around here it's something like a $160 fine, but most cops don't bother ya unless the tires are WAY past the fenders or they're in a bad mood...

There were rumours flying around the campsite at Gonzukin that the local law enforcement was patroling the exit of Paragon Adventure Park with yard sticks and ticket books. Apparently a local club got nailed the weekend before My inspection is due and I didn't feel like swapping on the stock rims/tires just to pass. This way I'm legal in trail form!

Yeah i got pulled over by the cops when i first put my lift on. They were cool about it. Just told me I needed flares on there cause the state troopers are anal about it. Even asked how it went in the woods and so on.

I would have grabbed the fronts while I was at the junkyard, but the sammy only had 1 front, the other was missing.

Oh well... I'll be going back to the yard soon anyways, maybe I'll go ahead and grab it in case I find another one...

Do you think the fronts will line up as well as the rear looks like it did?

I don't know, but it should. Sammys only have 2 different flares. The left front is exactly the same as the right rear and the right front matches the left rear...

the sammy flares should look just as good up front on a track/kick as they do on the back in my pic, but I haven't even held them up there to see yet.

The flares on a sammy match each other diagonally, in other words the left front flare of a sammy exactly matches the right rear flare of a sammy and the right front flare on a sammy exactly matches the left rear flare... So out of all 4 flares, there are two matching pairs...

K got it. cause they look perfect on there. And instead of trying to import some flares from the uk I might just get the sammy ones.

These are the plastic sammy flares. Some of them were steel and some were plastic from the factory, but I don't know what models or years came with which type. I just took the outer plastic flare and attached it to the truck with 4 small "L" brackets per flare. Total cost: $5 per flare at the pull-it yard and $4 worth of "L" brakets and screws... I mounted them like this so they are sort of "break-away" style. Hopefully if I mash them into a tree or squish them against the ground, the screws will pull out of the sheet metal allowing the flares to pop off before they break...

I wonder if any of the aftermarket flares available will fit?

I don't know if there are any specific aftermarket flares made for Trackers, but there are universal-mount rubber ones that can be mounted. I personally like the look of the Bushwhacker cut-out style flares, but they are so expensive I never bothered to see if they made a Tracker-specific version...
