On the Goblin, I removed most of the AC system because it was in the way and adding un needed weight. I'd like to remove the compressor, too, but not until I find a shorter belt. Did these rigs ever come with power steering and no a/c? Is there a belt that is the right size if I just tell the parts guy 93 with PS but without AC or will I have to custom size one?

They come without a/c but not sure if yours has the same bracket? just take some ribbon and a stapler with you and pop the hood so you get get the correct size at the auto parts place.

     The info I've got says you can use the non-a/c stock belt....put and bracket should be the same.

 I got a 90 sidekick in the garage ( good parts) it's got PS and no AC, I'll get the number and brand off the belt.

 Your PS runs off the outer crank pulley right? ( inner for the ALT and outer for PS) if so the belts should be the same.

 I'll post belt #s tomorrow when I get off work

Cool... yeah the outer belt spins the ps and the ac... It's a flat belt, too, not a V-belt...

Why not turn your ac compressor into a air compressor?  I have a jeep friend who did that to run his lockers and air up at the end of the trail ride.  Works quite well.

When I took my engine out, I noticed that the PS pump could be locked down or pivoted indicating that, with the AC compressor not installed, you can adjust the belt tension with the PS pump.

I think that the locking bolt is under the pump and accessable through the round holes in the pump's pulley.

Whatever the case, take a good look at the way the PS pump is mounted and you'll discover how to set it so it'll take the slack out of the belt.
