i have a 9" lift on my suzuki. unfortunately the is vibrations and knocking coming from the rear end. i am assuming it is the operating angle of the drive shaft. i ground up parts of the driveshaft so that the yoke is no longer touching. now the vibrations are less but still there. how can i fix it? i also have a 1" extended yoke that leaves only an inch of spline showing on the driveshaft not sure if that has any thing to do with it? i was told to put angled shims on the springs but wanted to know if there is anything else that can be done? any help is appreciated.

Hey dude, how about some pics of what you have.  It would be a little easier if we can see your driveline angles and such.

I've read 6.5" is as high as you should go.

if the rear diff has an extream angle it wil vibe pretty bad, so you gotta shim it to tilt the diff back to a more normal angle..sounds like thats the prob, by what your saing and no pics

yeah that is probably what i will do

but i am also going to drop the transfer case cause i  want as little stress on the u joints and t case and rear end.

You could spend 400.00 bucks on a double carden type and aim your rear diff up so that it's inline with the drive shaft(and point it down one or two deg. if you don't have a tracktion bar) that would ba about it,or if off road only or short trips on the hyway a cv type drive shaft that looks like it came off the front of a mini van.

You say you 'ground up parts of the driveshaft' and you've extended the yoke. It might be worth having it rebalanced.
