Roof rack
« on: September 18, 2005, 12:41:31 PM »
Just wondering if i bolt down a 3/4 inch piece of plywood on the stock roof rack how much weight i could load on it.

Going moose hunting and would like to bolt down a small seat to sit someone to be able to see better in the clear cuts.We all weigh around 200 pds.

Thanks

You should find that information in your owners manual in the chapter named "Other controls and equipment".  According to my manual the loading capacity on the roof rails should not exceed 100lbs or 45kg.

I have a Yakima roof rack (bolted direct to roof)  It's really strong
