Opinions Wanted on which Power Steering bracketry to buy
« on: September 25, 2005, 10:03:42 AM »
I was looking through all the vendors that have brackets for mounting sidekick power steering to a sammy and thought I would ask people who have already done this conversion for thier opinion..

Which kit did you use and how well do you like it.

Thanks again

I have the TT kit on my sammy and it works great. But If I was to do it again, I would buy a kit that keeps me from drilling my frame. A kit like Calmini and Sky mfg. sell. These kits give you an adapter plate to bolt on the sammy frame and install the gear box. It beefs up the side of the frame, uses existing mounting holes and no drilling and welding is required.
Calmini has the best bolt on kit in my opinion, everything you need to get p/s on your rig. Sky's kit is right up there but is missing the u-joint conversion for the steering shaft. You really need this if wheeling in rocks or just want to eliminate the rag joint. Tighter feel and stronger than the rag joint.

Ordered up Sky's power steering kit.
as if anyone cared.
it's 100% bolt in and since my power steering stuff came with the steering stick should be good to go.
Thanks Locjaw.
