well I never pulled apart a birfield before. but i think i have a problem is it possible for the out side part of the axle to turn and not turn the gears .. just info it has a lock right and 5.12 s and it turns it for about a 1/4 turn and then turns just the outside and makes a clicking noise.

Maybe a problem with the birf but I would check your lockout first.. They can get all gumed up and work intermittenly or not at all.

i checked the hub it works. dose any body have a clue what would make the inside of the shaft (the part that goes to the 3rd member)turn but not the part of it that goes to the hub??and sorry if it sounds like a dumb question but this whole birf thing is new to me im use to my sidetrack..
