How to lift your engine - sidekick

i would like to lift my engine. can anyone help with a step by step procedure? is this a fairly easy process? thanks

Lift your engine as in remove it from the truck or raise it higher in the frame? If you mean to remove it from the truck, an engine hoist would be a worthwhile tool to have access to...

hi digger. lift as in to raise it higher in the frame. by my estimate i need to clear around 2". thanks

Well, if you are running a body lift, you should be able to lift the engine as high as the body lift is tall. You'd have to space up the brackets between the frame and motor mount as well as address the transmission brackets and the fan shroud. This would allow you to raise the tranny crossmember, though which could help keep from bashing it on as many rocks...

gotta ask why are you raising the engine?

I personally like a low COG, but if you've got "plans" for the front suspension, I can possibly see needing some more clearance ...

Just a hint, we'll keep is secret here I promise  ;)

thanks for the response. i had lifted the engine by 2" already. its easier than i thought. i needed to clear some space for my new axles.  :)
